How To Find A Website

Steps

  1. Go to a search engine (e.g. www.google.com).
  2. Type in the thing you want to search for.
  3. Don't make the line too long, just type in word by word, even if it doesn't make sense such as "recipe ice cream banana" instead of "A recipe on how to create a banana ice cream blast".
  4. The search engine should display a list of results; click on the link to the website you want.

Tips

  • Try to use words that are related to the website you want to find, e.g. if you are trying to find a site about monkeys, do not type in "Raging killer robots which want to destroy everyone", instead type in "monkeys".
  • If the site you are searching for should contain a certain phrase, put the phrase in "Inverted commas" when searching.
  • Type words how you would expect to find them on a website.

Warnings

  • Beware of information overload. For example, type in 'monkeys' and you will end up surfing through thousands of unrelated topics...be more specific, using keywords. If you wanted to find out about the English Water-Monkey, type that in, not just 'monkey'

Things You'll Need

  • A computer (probably like the one you are using right now).
  • A web browser.
  • An Internet connection.
